This cushion sized kit has been developed from a smaller project which will, in time, be available too.  The large version shown here, Victoria, is named after Lady Victoria Wemyss who cared for The School from her marriage in 1918 until her death, aged 104, in 1994.  Lady Victoria, born in 1890, was the last surviving God child of Queen Victoria.  Apparently all Queen Victoria's God children were named Victor or Victoria!

The smaller kit, when available, will be called Vicky.  The Vicky design was developed by Helen McCook, a visiting tutor, for teaching a crewelwork class we held here at The School.  It is inspired by part of a crewelwork bedspread in our collection made, we think, here in The School in 1881.  The bedspread is for a four poster bed and has a large central motif of the Wemyss family crest and motto, Je Pense, and the date 1881.
